Help us decide the future of Acute Medicine Research
Have you been seriously unwell and needed urgent care in hospital?
Or have you helped to care for a family member or friend who was seriously unwell and needed urgent care in hospital?
If so, we would like to hear from you.
The Society for Acute Medicine is working with the James Lind Alliance to find out which questions about Acute Medicine are most important to patients, families, carers and healthcare professionals, so that future research focuses on what matters most to people. Patients, carers and healthcare professionals will decide these priorities together.
We are looking for 5–6 patients, carers or members of the public to join the group leading this work.
You do not need any research experience or medical knowledge. Your personal experience is what matters.
Who are we looking for?
We would like to hear from you if you:
- have received care from an Acute Medicine service, including an Acute Medical Unit (AMU) or medical Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC); or
- have cared for or supported someone who received care in an acute medicine service.
You must be aged 18 or over.
We are looking for people who are interested in improving acute medical care and are willing to listen to and work with people who have different experiences, perspectives and views.
