The PIONEER team joined colleagues from the Public Involvement Hub at the University of Birmingham Community Festival to celebrate 125 years of world-leading research. Held on a sunny June weekend, the event welcomed thousands of visitors to enjoy more than 50 activities across Chancellor’s Court and the Green Heart.
The Public Involvement Hub stall proved popular throughout the day, offering family-friendly games, quizzes and interactive activities that highlighted the importance of public involvement in research. The PIONEER team spoke with visitors about the many ways local people can contribute to research and help shape future healthcare innovations.
Despite a brief lunchtime downpour, the festival was a vibrant celebration of research, community and collaboration.
